Merry Meadow Farm is home to many people suffering from a mental illness who cannot meet the current societal demands in the community. We offer a safe, loving, supportive environment dedicated to individualized care and personal growth. Merry Meadow Farm bridges the gap between the custodial care of an institution and the demands of independent living.
We help our Residents develop positive alternatives to their habits and behaviors, leading them toward improved social skills and a greater level of self-esteem. We tailor our support to the individual, their strengths, goals and overall well being. Some Residents are working to transition into independent living while others are looking only to live a better life. Many of our Residents are employed in the community, taking college courses, or volunteering their services. Although most of our support is based around the individual, we do offer weekly group therapy centering around social skills, goals and vocational desires.
Merry Meadow Farm has been a licensed Therapeutic Community Residence since 1980. We offer 4 separate residential homes in the Bradford, VT and Hanover, NH areas. Our support staff includes a recreational counselor, an art therapist, a nutritionist, a staff psychologist and a number of adjunct physicians and therapists. Our rural setting is just over an hour from an international airport and just 20 minutes North of Dartmouth College.
